For summer theatre, Weisiger Theatre represents one of the great untapped resources in the region, if not the nation. Architecturally, of course, it has a very rare pedigree indeed. It's the product of Frank Lloyd Wright's Scottsdale, Ariz., studio—Taliesin West. More importantly, for our purposes, it is a dynamic theatre space—a space reminiscent of some of the great theatre spaces in the world, most notably to us, the outstanding stage at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario, Canada. The design enables the actor to connect with the audience in ways traditional, proscenium stages simply can't; and, as a result, serious artists will clamor to use the space…if only we put the offer on the table.

We challenge anyone to find a more intimate and well-designed theatre Off-Broadway or on. Combined with the Norton Center for the Arts outstanding technical and rehearsal facilities, this space offers an ideal home for resident, professional theatre. And that's what we hope to build.
